The Beginning

I've always loved the idea of creating my own worlds and stories since childhood. I wrote stories and dabbled in poetry. I spent several years role-playing online, developing characters I still love today. But over the years, I lost my confidence, developed mental health issues, and the things I loved faded into the background.

Last year, something changed, and I sat at my laptop, and the words flowed from me. The journey for my first novel began in February 2025. It started with two ideas for the story's beginning and end, and from there, the world and story took shape. Over 200k words later, it was clear this wouldn't be the single novel I had envisioned, so I began splitting the book into a duology. From there, my problem was that I wanted the same ending, but also not. And now what was meant to be one book is three, and has taken on a life of its own.

Now, I sit at my computer or on my phone and write something every day. Sometimes it's only a short piece; other times it's chapters or pieces for the writing group I volunteer with. I won't lie, my confidence still isn't great, and I do doubt my work, but I'm enjoying writing and the process, from those first few words to publication. It's been an amazing and terrifying journey, and I hope you enjoy reading Blessed as much as I did writing it.
